Highland Elementary School is in the northmost corner of Grants Pass, sitting next door to North Middle School. We serve over 300 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Our school is situated on approximately 10 acres and the building is approximately 43,000 square feet.
School News
Starting in the 2024-25 school year, the Grants Pass School District will offer FREE preschool for four and five-year-olds living within GPSD7 boundaries.
In partnership with SOESD Early Childhood Services,, the new preschool program will accommodate 36 children in its first year, and bring together children with and without disabilities into one inclusive classroom.

Highland Elementary School is among 200 schools nationwide that has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries.
The money will be used to expand the library’s collection, including the non-fiction section for K-2 readers.
Grants Pass School District 7 and Four Way Community Foundation are proud to announce the launch of a fundraising campaign to preserve the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center (PAC).
A 25th-anniversary celebration of the Performing Arts Center will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The celebration will be an evening of music, theater, and dance.
The Grants Pass Early Learning Program offers free interactive playgroups for four and 5-year-olds who will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2025.
The Grants Pass School District 7 Board of Directors has approved a debt restructuring plan that aims to address safety and facility needs across the district.
The $13 million generated from the restructuring will be used to make necessary upgrades across the district, with a focus on improving the safety and functionality of school buildings.
